I got a garmin nuvi for Christmas and it just keeps saying aquiring satellites, should I return it?

I have the garmin also… Everytime I turn it on it says searching for satellites, and it takes a whlie (like 7 mins) for it to find them, but after that it works perfect. If yours just says searching for sattelites, I would take it back and get a new one…. Maybe its a defect?
